Fly Fish the Adirondacks Guide Service is a professional independent guide service that offers river and stream wading fly fishing trips for trout
and trips for bass and other warm water fishes conducted from a boat.
I offer a personalized service based on a lifetime of fly fishing in the Northern Adirondack Region, there are no substitutes for local
knowledge of season, lay of terrain and water. During the course of a guided trip I will be an instructing guide, covering casting, reading the
water, line control, presentation, insect identification, knots and more. To insure quality fishing for all, I promote a catch and
release only policy.
Fishing instruction is included on every fishing trip, this guide service is not a " point and fish while smoking a cigar" " service, I will instruct through the entire trip, my goal is to educate the client in both physical skills and the understanding of the waters.
Rivers covered in the region are the West Branch of the
Ausable, Saranac, Salmon, Raquette, Chateaugay, and St.Regis rivers.
All trips are lead by Richard Garfield, this service is based upon one guide, operator and owner.
This is a one man show providing the same consistency on all trips lead.
Your trip can be a pleasurable short walk to the water or a hike to a remote spot.
You can tailor the trip to meet your goals and objectives.
My goal is to lead the best trip possible based upon water conditions, weather and time of
the season.
I can not , however, make the fish feed or control the weather...still working on this, my business partner
Mother Nature has the final say to the outcome of the day .
The duration of your trip can be a 4 hour one - half day, 8 hour full day or tailor your trip to a time frame in which you would like to operate.
