The Ladies and the Disorientated Northern Pike
Amy and Denise pictured below took the Learn to fly fish program and did very well at their first venture in to the fly fishing world.
During their trip, Denise spotted a large fish fining in the shallows, with her eyes wide in astonishment and excitement she brought my attention to the fish which I quickly idenified as a northern pike !!!!!!! What was a northern pike doing in a trout stream???? Simple answer, the stream is fed from 3 warm water lakes containing northern pike, this pike took a wrong turn and ventured into a small trout stream, not the proper environment for a healthy life, the fish was weak and starving, I netted the fish, had the ladies hold it for quick photos and a video, then it was released with all good intentions that it will survive and find it's way back to the lakes.
