Brook trout, is not a trout, it is classified as a char and is the most beautiful of all the cold water species in the Northern ADK waters. This fish can live in the smallest of streams to large lakes, it's size can range from 4" in small back country streams up to 18" plus in ponds and lakes that dot the ADK geography. The majority of the brook trout pictured were caught in small head water streams of major Northern NY drainages. Please view the enviroment that these native brook trout inhabit.
